LGBTQ+ Pride Flags

In the LGBTQ+ community, we signify our pride with flags. With many other identities in the society, there comes many diverse flags to know. We have collected all of the flags and a guide to learn about all of the unlike colors of our community’s rainbow. We know that this may not be all of the flags that represent our people, but we will update the page as novel flags become popular!

The original Pride Flag was created in 1978 after activist Harvey Milk asked artist Gilbert Baker to design a symbol of gay pride. Each color represents a diverse part of the Gay community: hot pink represents sex, red symbolizes experience, orange stands for healing, yellow equals sunlight, verdant stands for nature, turquoise symbolizes magic and art, indigo represents serenity, while violet symbolizes the essence of LGBTQ+ people.

The Out and Proud Series presents the largest opportunity for community visibility on the UC San Diego campus. It is a time for reflection on the achievements of LGBTQIA+ identified students, staff, faculty, and our allies. It is also a hour for public awareness and discussion of current LGBTQIA+ issues on the articulate and national levels.

This two week series will consist of programming focusing on the theme “Roots of Resistance." Our student staff has identified five areas of impact and needs. Education and Resources, National Focus, Community Care, Public presence, and Intergenerational Dialogue.

While historically this celebration has been called Out and Haughty Week, experiences of Self-acceptance movements and narratives of coming out need critical examination. Not everyone is out nor wants or needs to be. Coming out is not a single action, but a continuous process that often needs to take place multiple times throughout a person’s life. It is also different around sexuality, romantic attraction, gender identities and expressions, and for many coming out and expressions of pride may not be safe. Health Care for Recent Jersey's LGBTQIA+ Society

At Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, we are dedicated to gathering the diverse health care needs of our people. The LGBTQIA+ Program is part of our initiative to provide quality care to the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Questioning, Intersex, Asexual community. Our hospitals and medical centers are welcoming, inclusive environments, with physicians and staff dedicated in their commitment to equitably work the needs of the LGBTQIA+ population.

Nationally Recognized Diversity Programs

We recognize the serious challenges facing LGBTQIA+ youth and adults, and position in support of diversity and inclusion for all. Our program services includes policies intended to eliminate the disparities in care LGBTQIA+ patients often confront when seeking medical care. We acquire been awarded the Leader in LGBT Healthcare Equalityrecognition by the Human Rights Campaign Foundationfive consecutive times. This requires us to encounter certain criteria:
  • Upholding an explicit patient non-discrimination policy
  • Instituting an equal visitation policy for LGBTQIA+ couples
  • Maintaining an employment non-discriminatio

    The Proud Trust coaching and education team writes a basic , easy to exploit, education and resource pack for LGBT+ History Month, which is celebrated each year in the UK in February.

    The Proud Trust is committed to advancing the lives of LGBT+ young people through positive education. By providing even a small donation, you can assist keep the LGBT+ History Month learning pack free to schools and youth services.

    The Satisfied Trust has produced a free downloadable pack for schools to celebrate LGBT+ History Month, including engaging lesson plans and powerpoints developed by our maestro Training and Education team. The lesson plans are written with the National Curriculum in mind, with activities which can tie in to History, Relationships and Sex Education, Media Studies and English lessons.

    Pride On The Park supported by Hayu is the official Brighton & Hove Pride fundraiser for our local LGBTQIA+ group groups. A glittering and truly inclusive community celebration that delivers an memorable day of Pride, it is unique community fundraising event that has enjoyed amazing performances from international stars including Britney Spears, Kylie Minogue, Dua Lipa, Ray,  Nile Rogers & Chic, Clean Bandit, Pet Shop Boys, Grace Jones, Years and Years, Sister Sledge, Carly Rae Jepsen, Fatboy Slim, Paloma Faith, The Human League,  Ella Elre, Jessie J amongst others.

    Described by The Guardian as “the country’s most popular LGBT event,” the Brighton & Hove Movement Festival is a vibrant celebration of all that is wonderful about our city’s diverse community, with visitors from across the globe enjoying its spectacular celebrations.

    Pride  has proved itself to be the UK’s biggest, boldest and leading Pride event with society fundraising at its heart.
