Join Queer Calgary for Queer Community Concern Coffee ☕, a monthly gathering in partnership with Sip and Psych, our counselling partner.
This is a space to see, chat, and build connections over coffee—whether you need to share experiences, try advice, or simply appreciate good company.

Gay Calgary, Canada : A Beautiful City with a Multicultural Vibe
Calgary is a city of one-of-a-kind charms. Nestled beside the beautiful Bow River, and approximately 50 miles east of the Canadian Rockies, it is a metropolis of stunning outdoor beauty, while simultaneously being a thriving, diverse, and cosmopolitan town where everyone can feel at home and find their place.
A Stare at Calgary’s History
Calgary is Canada’s fifth largest urban area, and the center of Canada’s oil industry. Though it is now a thriving and diverse metropolis, it still often goes by its nickname, “Cowtown” in tribute to its early roots in western culture and its laid-back atmosphere. It still celebrates that culture with its famed Calgary Stampede, a massive rodeo held each July. Calgary is a very diverse city, with some 120 different languages spoken by its residents. Calgary is home to a booming tech industry and a younger, multicultural demographic, an offers an endless number of activities and entertainment options for residents and visitors alike.

When we support the 2SLGBTQI+ community, we make Alberta a safer, healthier place to live.
Seventy-four per cent of Canadians know someone who is 2SLGBTQI+, and 40 per cent of the 2SLGBTQI+ community have experienced discrimination. People who are 2SLGBTQI+ are more likely to experience declining mental health because of the pandemic. CMHA believes that having healthy and supportive places to stay, work, play and learn can safeguard the mental health of those in the 2SLGBTQI+ community.

Calgary LGBTQ+ Refugee Centre
Providing support for Gay Asylum Seekers and Refugees settling in Calgary
The Calgary Homosexual Refugee Centre provides one-to-one support for LGBTQ+ refugees in Calgary providing services directly, or if we cannot provide the service, through referrals to other community and service organizations that can provide the requested service. Our highlight will be on helping you obtain services and endorse to get you resettled in Calgary.

Calgary lesbian, gay, bisexual, gender diverse, queer, and other sexually diverse refugees and immigrants are welcome to join meet-up and conversation groups.
Meet-ups and workshops are unseal to ALL LGBTQ+ Newcomers: refugee claimants, refugees, everlasting residents & their friends and supporters. Some meetings are at fun locations around the city, so please check dates and locations.
