The beach of Balestrate and Calatubo, in the province of Palermo, is a beach frequented almost by gay people, made of pebbles and sand with dunes protected by small trees and a palisade in reeds. In the adjacent nature reserve, “grove”, we practice cruising and, given the high density of gay people and gay tourists, the possibility of meeting is very high. The beach of Balestrate and Calatubo is also a naturist area, it is next to a campsite and on its eastern side it is bordered by the very small mouth of the River Caldo, which in summer is completely dry. To reach the gayfriendly and naturist beach of Balestrate, take the Palermo-Mazara del Vallo motorway (A29), take the junction for Balestrate, take the downhill road and turn left towards Trapani – Alcamo, until the sign that report the refreshment area. Cross the Fennel Creek (the ford is allowed by car).
