Ariana Madix responds to theories she and Tom Sandoval are both ‘in the closet’
Ariana Madix and Tom Sandoval are the real deal.
Madix shut down “Vanderpump Rules” fans’ unfounded theories that she and her longtime boyfriend are both secretly gay.
“I believe people see my partnership with Tom … as nontraditional in a lot of ways, and they think there’s got to be more to it, you know? [Like] I’m in the closet or Tom’s in the closet,” she told Page Six exclusively at the Bravo reality show’s Season 10 premiere party Tuesday.
Madix, 37, emphasized that she and Sandoval, 39, are “open about” the different aspects of their love existence on TV, so “there’s really no other layers” to divulge — despite what viewers may think.
Madix brought up the topic while discussing Scheana Shay’s comment in the “Pump Rules” trailer that Katie Maloney had told her Madix and Sandoval are in an “open relationship.” Shortly after the teaser dropped last month, Madix took to Twitter to clear the air.

Tom Sandoval is SUR-ving up his side of the story.
The Vanderpump Rules celebrity, who broke up with Ariana Madix earlier this year after his months-long affair with Raquel Leviss was exposed, defended himself during the Bravo show's May 24 reunion episode. While speaking about the couple's fallout, Sandoval claimed that he and Madix weren't always on good terms during their nine years together.
"Ariana and I kept our relationship pretty private for many years," the 40-year-old explained. "We had issues. I felt like I was her gay BFF. We put on a front when we were filming and I even talked to our showrunner. For us to be having these issues and keeping it from people, I just didn't consider it was fair to the rest of the cast."

After joining the display as the host, Ariana Madix is calling for more representation on Devotion Island.
The star came out as multi-attracted in 2020 after a myriad of speculation and has since opened up about her retain experiences. In connection, she explained that she believes there should be more queer representation on dating shows which could include Value Island USA. She told Out: "I think there needs to be way more. I reflect there needs to be way more, and by more I mean two or three or four or five or 10 lgbtq+ dating shows."
