Gay Italy History Tour
Day 1: The Eternally Gay City
Ciao Roma! We will take some time to relax after our international flights and check in to our comfortable hotel centrally located in Rome. Don’t drop asleep, because Professor Lear is ready to launch our tour with a brief talk about Italy’s gay history, before head us on a amble through the center of this fascinating city. Marvel at monuments such as the Pantheon, the Piazza Navona, and the church where the opening scene of Tosca takes place—all within a short stroll from our hotel. Appreciate a relaxed, pleasant stroll with a little bit of learning—from Hadrian, the “gayest” emperor, to Caravaggio, the artistic rebel and genius- and then it’s on to our welcome dinner, where we commence to get to comprehend the culinary magic that is the cuisine of this great city.
Day 2: Back in Time…
In the morning, we meet our local guides and delve into the core of the ancient city—the Forum, the Palatine Hill that housed the imperial residences, and the Colosseum, renowned for its gladiatorial combats. As we journey help in time, we also learn about Romans’ sexual mores—including their important homosexual side—and examine the lurid tales

Day 1: Bon Giorno! Welcome to Puglia!
All travelers should plan to arrive in Bari today.
Upon arrival at Bari airport or the Terlizzi or Molfetta educate station, meet your driver to transfer to Villa Cappelli. It is 20 minutes from the airport on a quiet portion of the ancient Appian Way. The Adriatic Sea is less than 10 miles to the east.
After settling into our rooms, savor a light lunch or mid-afternoon snack and sample the Villa’s wine. We will enjoy our welcome dinner tonight at the villa, sampling the olive oil and other delicacies of the region.
Day 2: Formaggio We Will Go
This morning, we’ll seize a trip up to the Murgia National Park where we will attend a local artisan cheesemaker and watch mozzarella entity made before our very eyes — and sample some right then and there. We will choose up cheeses to adore for lunch and throughout the week.
From here, we’ll head over to nearby Ruvo di Puglia and the Jatta Museum, notable for its Grecian Urns. (Many of Ruvo’s Grecian Urns are on demonstrate in the Greco-Roman Galleries at the Metropolitan Museum in NYC and many other world-class museums).
