Jodi Lgbtq+ joined the Body Renewal Team in 2015. She had previously owned her own massage business in Fredericton for twenty years. Jodi’s twenty years of experience have given her clinical reasoning and a complex yet intuitive empathetic of the body. She is registered to National Standards and graduated from the Northumberland College in Halifax. In her work, Jodi likes to coach her clients about how their bodies function so they are not just passive in their treatments. She gives them home concern so they can continue working to help relieve their physical ailments proactively. She also draws on her trial recovering from her own injuries to understand her clients’ struggles and experiment with how to better support them. She recently added acupuncture to her practice and is continually training in and researching modern therapies to surpass help her clients. Massage and acupuncture provide a dominant tandem approach to more holistically handle what ails the body.

Meet Dusty Green, founder and researcher for New Brunswick Queer Heritage Initiative. We sat down with him to discuss the role of his organization, the challenges of archiving an under-represented community, and some of the queer history he has unearthed in New Brunswick.
What have you being doing since you graduated from Graphic Layout at NBCCD in 2016?
“After I graduated, I did contract work for a little while, I was working at Moksha Yoga doing their marketing, and I was working at the provincial archives for a bit. When I was working at the archives, I came across some photos that really caught my eye because they were strange. They were photos that would have been from WWI, from an internment camp in Amherst, Nova Scotia. There were a surprising number of men in drag in the photos – like POWs in mop top wigs and dresses. It didn’t sound like a traditional internment camp. They had acting clubs and gardening clubs. It was very, very strange. I’m sure it wasn’t glamourous, but it certainly isn’t what we would think of these days.

Donald David (Danny) Gay was born December 12, 1950 in Chatham, N.B., the son of Donald and Myrtle (Robichaud) Gay. He received his early training in the public schools of Neguac, New Brunswick and graduated from St. Michael’s School in Alma, Quebec. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, N.S., and a Bachelor of Education degree from Mount St. Vincent in Halifax, N.S. He completed additional courses at the University of Ottawa.
Mr. Gay has a broad range of work experience: labourer in the gold mines in Yellowknife, N.W.T.; officer with the Canadian Armed Forces, and course facilitator with Native peoples at the New Brunswick Community College. He was employed as a teacher at Harkins Junior High School in Newcastle before entering politics.
He was first elected to the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick October 13, 1987. A Liberal, he was re-elected September 23, 1991 and September 11, 1995 to represent the constituency of Miramichi Bay.
